Tenuta Baràc Barbaresco D.O.C.G. “Rocche Massalupo” 2018

£240.00

Barbaresco DOCG Rocche Massalupo is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the Comune of Alba on west-facing vineyards at 300 metres above sea level, planted on grey marl soils and trained using the Guyot system, with vines averaging 20 years of age. Harvest takes place in the first to second decade of October, followed by 12 months of ageing in large French oak barrels. The wine shows a ruby-red colour with garnet hints and an intense bouquet of withered violet, maraschino cherries and tobacco, with enveloping tannins typical of Nebbiolo and added complexity from its maturation. It pairs beautifully with red meats, game and aged cheeses, and is best served at 16–18°C.
